Reduction of the Issuance Time for Criminal Record Certificates to Just 1 Day

This is one of the new measures approved by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam in Decision 199/QD-TTg dated February 09, 2018, regarding the simplification of the group of administrative procedures related to judicial records and copies of notarized and authenticated documents.

The issuance time of the Judicial Record Card (JRC) is shortened (compared to the current regulations) according to the following options:

- From 10 days to 07 working days for cases where the individual being issued a JRC resides in only one place;- From 15 days to 10 days if the individual being issued a JRC has resided in multiple places;- From 10 days to 01 working day for individuals under 14 years old;

At the same time, the issuance time of the JRC is supplemented not exceeding 20 days for cases:

- Where information verification is required regarding conditions for criminal record expungement in multiple places and various agencies;- Where documents have exceeded the issuance timeframe of the JRC or involve complications that the Department of Justice cannot resolve.
