"1m Distancing on Passenger Buses" Does Not Apply to Family Members

On April 29, 2020, the Ministry of Transport issued Official Dispatch 4145/BGTVT-CYT to agencies and units under the Ministry of Transport, providing additional guidelines on measures to ensure the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic on transportation vehicles.

The Ministry of Transport provides additional specific guidance as follows:

- Health declaration form (only use paper health declaration if electronic declaration is not possible): According to the health declaration form issued by the Ministry of Health (enclosed with the form in Vietnamese, English, Korean, and Chinese).

- The arrangement and seating of passengers on the vehicle must ensure distance by leaving one seat empty between passengers or maintaining a 1-meter distance. However:

- Does not apply to sleeper buses, but it must ensure that the number of passengers does not exceed the permitted number according to the Certificate of Technical Safety and Environmental Protection of Road Motor Vehicles and must not exceed 30 people on the vehicle, including the driver and assistant driver;- Does not apply to groups of passengers who are members of the same household.
