Vietnam Social Security has recently issued Official Dispatch 4055/BHXH-CNTT regarding the payment of medical examination and treatment dossiers in cases where the insurance card expires after the search date.
Facing the situation where individuals with health insurance cards (BHYT) go to medical facilities (KCB) and the card is valid upon checking, but expired when submitting payment requests, Vietnam Social Security requires the provincial Social Security authorities to strictly implement the following:
- Accept, verify, and pay for medical expenses (KCB) according to the valid information checked by the medical facilities at the time the insured person arrives for medical care;- Check and review the process of issuing, updating, increasing, and decreasing BHYT cards;- Require staff in charge of collection and issuance of books and cards to strictly and fully implement the process of issuing, exchanging, and updating BHYT card data according to regulations in Official Dispatch 3881/BHXH-ST;- Clarify the responsibilities of individuals and groups violating the update of increases and decreases in BHYT participants and propose disciplinary measures to be sent to Vietnam Social Security before September 30, 2017.
