Promulgation of the Decree amending the Decree on the ordinance on environmental police in Vietnam

Certain contents in Decree 157/2024/ND-CP amends Decree 105/2015/ND-CP on the Ordinance on Environmental Police as follows:

- Amend the authority to decide on the inspection of the compliance with laws on environment, resources, and food safety as follows:

+ Director of the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention Police;

+ Director of the provincial Police Department;

+ Head of the Department of Investigation into Crimes related to Corruption, Economy, Smuggling, and Environment of the provincial Police Department;

+ Head of the district Police Department.

- Amend the authority to decide on the inspection of means, objects, and locations related to crimes and administrative violations concerning environment, resources, and food safety as follows:

+ Director of the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention Police;

+ Director of the provincial Police Department;

+ Head of the Department of Investigation into Crimes related to Corruption, Economy, Smuggling, and Environment of the provincial Police Department;

+ Head of the district Police Department.

- Replace certain phrases as follows:

+ Replace the phrase “environmental police force” with the phrase “environmental crime prevention police force” in Article 1; Clauses 3, 4 Article 12; Point b Clause 1 Article 14; Clauses 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 Article 14; Point b Clause 9 Article 14; Point c Clause 10 Article 14; Clause 1 Article 15; Clauses 1, 3 Article 16; Clause 2 Article 18.

+ Replace the phrase “Environmental Police” with the phrase “environmental crime prevention police force” in Article 2; Title of Chapter II; Article 4; Article 5; Clause 1 Article 6; Clause 1 Article 7; Clause 1 Article 8; Clause 1 Article 9; Clause 1 Article 11; Clause 10 Article 13; Point a Clause 2 Article 14; Title of Chapter IV; Clauses 1, 2 Article 15; Title of Article 16; Clause 2 Article 16; Clauses 1, 2 Article 17; Title of Article 18; Points a, c Clause 1 Article 18; Clause 2 Article 18.

- Abolish Clause 2 Article 9.
