The Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam promulgates Decision 88/QD-BTTTT dated January 21, 2025, on the Code of conduct on the protection of children in the online environment in Vietnam.

Promulgation of the Code of conduct on the protection of children in the online environment in Vietnam

The code of conduct for children in the online environment in the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children in the Online Environment in Vietnam is as follows:

- Understand the risks to children in the online environment and implement measures to ensure safety when participating in activities in the online environment through computers, phones, tablets.

- Be cautious and alert when participating in activities in the online environment and when searching for information on the Internet.

- Communicate and behave positively, civilly, and respectfully towards others in the online environment; share safely, healthily, and responsibly with friends.

- Seek advice and obtain consent from parents or caretakers before connecting with strangers in the online environment.

- Share with parents, caretakers, or teachers about personal relationships, difficulties, and troubles encountered in the online environment.

- Courageously report and denounce to the competent authorities as specified in Clause 6, Article 4 of the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children in the Online Environment issued with Decision 88/QD-BTTTT dated January 21, 2025, when confronted with or discovering behaviors that harm children, risks to children in the online environment, or harmful content towards children.

- Do not access, use, or share harmful information and content; do not participate in or imitate negative, nonsensical, useless, unhealthy content in the online environment.

- Be cautious and responsible when sharing or providing personal information and images, or private life secrets of oneself or anyone else in the online environment.

- Do not access links or content from unclear sources; leave and report upon encountering inappropriate content or behaviors.

- Do not participate in factional activities, attacks, impersonations, bullying, humiliating friends or other children.
