Promulgation of economic and technical norms for general investigation and survey of marine resources and the environment at water depths of 20m or more by ship in Vietnam

Issued together with Circular 24/2023/TT-BTNMT on Economic and Technical Norms for Comprehensive Investigation and Survey of Resources and Environment in Deep Sea Areas from 20 meters depth and above using ships, the scope of adjustment and applicable objects are as follows:

(1) Scope of adjustment:

The economic and technical norms for comprehensive investigation and survey of resources and the environment in the Vietnamese coastal waters with a depth of 20 meters and above using ships are applicable to the following tasks:

- Investigation and survey of marine meteorology;

- Investigation and survey of hydrography;

- Investigation and survey of the marine water environment;

- Investigation and survey of the marine sediment environment;

- Investigation and survey of marine geology;

- Investigation and survey of seabed topography;

- Investigation and survey of marine ecology.

(2) Applicable objects:

These economic and technical norms are applicable to state management agencies for marine resources and the environment, organizations, units, and individuals participating in the implementation of tasks, programs, and projects of comprehensive investigation and survey of resources and the environment in the Vietnamese coastal waters from a depth of 20 meters and above using ships funded by the state budget and related agencies.

Circular 24/2023/TT-BTNMT takes effect on February 15, 2024, replacing Circular 38/2010/TT-BTNMT dated December 14, 2010.

Tasks and specialized projects for the investigation and survey of marine resources and the environment approved under the provisions of Circular 38/2010/TT-BTNMT and being implemented or not yet implemented before the effective date of Circular 24/2023/TT-BTNMT shall continue to be implemented based on the approved grounds, except when there are requirements to comply with the provisions of Circular 24/2023/TT-BTNMT.
