On January 23, 2025, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam issued Decision No. 222/QD-TTg concerning the National Action Plan for the implementation of the circular economy until 2035.
Tasks and solutions for implementing the circular economy until 2035 in Vietnam include:
- Enhancing awareness, knowledge, skills, and developing good practices for implementing the circular economy, including:
+ Communication, training, dissemination of knowledge and laws on implementing the circular economy.
+ Integrating educational content on the circular economy into educational programs at all levels.
+ Developing and operating a platform for information connectivity and data sharing on the application of the circular economy model.
- Developing and completing the regulatory framework, policies, and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of state management on implementing the circular economy, including:
+ Organizing the development and issuance of action plans, integrating the circular economy into strategies, planning, plans, programs, and projects for development and waste management of ministries, agencies, and local authorities.
+ Completing legal regulations, standards, and technical regulations to encourage the implementation of the circular economy.
- Supporting and promoting the application of the circular economy in production, business, and consumption activities, including:
+ Supporting the implementation of eco-design to meet circular economy criteria.
+ Supporting the application and development of circular economy models in production and business.
+ Promoting innovation, the application of digital technology, environmentally friendly technology, and the best available techniques to implement the circular economy.
+ Supporting the formation and development of markets for goods and services related to the circular economy.
+ Promoting the implementation of the circular economy in consumption activities, ensuring consumer rights.
- Enhancing waste management to implement the circular economy, including:
+ Piloting, replicating, and developing waste management models towards the circular economy.
+ Promoting investment and supporting waste management to implement the circular economy.
- Strengthening linkages, cooperation, supervision, and evaluation of implementing the circular economy, including:
+ Enhancing linkages and cooperation in implementing the circular economy.
+ Developing tools to support measurement; monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for implementing the circular economy.
