The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam has just signed Decision No. 1307/QD-TTg approving the Project for the construction of an environmental monitoring and warning system for the marine environment in 04 central provinces: Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue.

Expected investment of VND 320 billion to:

- Invest in field observation equipment, laboratory analysis; specialized vehicles for environmental monitoring at Environmental Monitoring Centers;- Design and implement a marine environmental quality monitoring program in 04 provinces over 02 years;- Build a marine environmental monitoring station system including: continuous, automatic sea water monitoring stations and air quality monitoring stations;- Develop a marine environmental monitoring system through remote sensing technology monitoring.

In which:

- VND 200 billion from the compensation fund for marine environmental incidents of Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Company Ltd.;- VND 120 billion from investment capital in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2016 - 2020.

Decision 1307/QD-TTg is effective from September 03, 2017.
