Prohibit Media from Reporting to Encourage Disruptive Behavior at BOT Stations
Thuy Phu

This is an urgent directive from the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam in Official Telegram 82/CD-TTg regarding ensuring security and order at toll stations for road use services in the form of BOT contracts.

In order to address the outstanding issues recently occurring at BOT transportation projects and to rectify the security and order situation at toll stations, the Prime Minister requires:

- News agencies and press must absolutely not report or publish content that encourages acts of obstructing toll collection activities. Those spreading false information must be strictly handled;- Immediately deal with individuals who deliberately violate, obstruct traffic, cause disturbances, incite, or vandalize equipment at toll stations. If there is sufficient evidence to constitute a crime, prosecute and investigate;- Local authorities must scientifically organize the placement of reasonable lane division signs at toll station areas along bypass routes.

For detailed information, refer to Official Telegram 82/CD-TTg dated January 18, 2018.
