Procedures for the Inspection of Plant-origin Food for Export

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued Circular 44/2018/TT-BNNPTNT stipulating the State inspection for food safety concerning plant-origin foods intended for export.

Accordingly, for exported foodstuffs of plant origin that require inspection by the importing country, the procedure is as follows:

- Organizations and individuals shall submit 01 set of documents as per regulations to the inspection agency, which is the Regional Plant Quarantine Sub-Department, or the plant quarantine station at the border gate;- Documents and results of the procedure may be sent and received directly or through postal service or online via the Public Service Portal;- Within one working day from the date of receipt of the documents, the Inspection Agency will review the validity of the documents;- Within two working days from the date of receipt of valid documents, the shipment documents will be inspected and the Inspection Agency is responsible for notifying the inspection results.
