Procedures for issuing certificates for crew member in Vietnam from September 1, 2024

On August 8, 2024, the Minister of Transport issued Decision 985/QD-BGTVT announcing the amended and supplemented administrative procedures related to aviation under the management of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam.

Procedures for issuing certificates for crew member in Vietnam from September 1, 2024

issued along with Decision 985/QD-BGTVT on procedures for issuing certificates for crew member in Vietnam as follows:

* Process of Implementation:

- Submission of administrative procedure dossier:

Flight operators submit one set of dossiers directly or via postal services or in the electronic environment to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

- Resolution of administrative procedures:

Within 3 working days from the receipt of the dossier, including the crew list and accompanying documents, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam will review and notify the completeness and validity of the dossier.

Within 4 working days from when the dossier is deemed valid, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam will complete the procedures to issue Certificates for crew member to the individuals meeting the requirements.

* Method of Implementation:

- Direct submission; or

- Via postal services; or

- In the electronic environment.

* Dossier Components:

- A copy or electronic copy of the official dispatch from the Flight Operator accompanying the list of individuals requesting the issuance of Certificates for crew member, in which:

+ For flight crew members and technical staff, the operator prepares a list of individuals requesting issuance;

+ For flight attendants and other flight duty personnel, the operator prepares a list and training results, testing the level of compliance with aviation safety requirements for flight duties.

- A copy or electronic copy of the application requesting the issuance of Certificates for crew member as per the template;

- A 3x4 portrait photo or 3x4 electronic portrait photo (for online submission).

Decision 985/QD-BGTVT takes effect in Vietnam from September 1, 2024.
