On March 9, 2023, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Decision 1300/QD-BYT promulgating the national set of criteria for commune health for the period to 2030.
According to Vietnam's Decision 1300/QD-BYT, the order of assessment and recognition of communes meeting the national criteria for health by 2030 is as follows:
- For commune lines:
+ Register with the district management agency (Health Department and Health Center) on the implementation of the National Criteria for Commune Health.
+ The health station itself organizes the assessment of the achievement of the national criteria for commune health; it fully collects documents, data, and makes records to prove the achievement of the criteria.
+ After the health station self-assesses for meeting the prescribed criteria, the health station shall report to the commune-level People's Committee, with an official dispatch of the commune-level People's Committee enclosed with relevant documents to be sent to the district-level state management agency (Health Center or Health Department), requesting consideration and recognition of the commune meeting the national criteria for health.

Vietnam's Decision 1300/QD-BYT takes effect from the date of signing.
