Recently, the Government of Vietnam has issued Decree 118/2018/ND-CP regulating the combined military-civilian medical work.
Combination of military and civilian medicine is the integration between military medical forces and civilian medicine to leverage the combined strength of medical forces and the task of ensuring medical care aimed at improving the quality of care, protection, and enhancement of people's health, soldiers, and responding to medical situations.
The combination of military and civilian medicine is carried out according to the following principles:
- Adhering to the guidelines, policies of the Communist Party, and laws of the State based on the functions, tasks, and powers of military and civilian medical units;- Closely combining economic and social development, medical development with the strengthening of national defense and security and building of provincial, city defense areas;- Leveraging the comprehensive strength of military and civilian medicine in implementing the contents of the combined work of military and civilian medicine;- Operating according to the coordinated regulations uniformly issued by military and civilian medical management agencies.
Decree 118/2018/ND-CP is effective from October 30, 2018.
