Prime Minister of Vietnam to request policies to attract talents in the semiconductor industry

The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam praises and commends higher education institutions and corporations, businesses that have proactively and actively participated in training high-quality human resources in high-tech fields such as: processing, manufacturing semiconductor chips, biology, new materials...

To continue leveraging the achieved results, in order to create breakthroughs in training and developing high-quality human resources for the development of the country in the context of rapid and strong development in science and technology and the fourth industrial revolution, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam requests the Minister of Science and Technology to focus on directing and implementing effectively the following key tasks:

- Proactively review and prioritize scientific research programs in the fields of semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, etc., tied to training talent, training major experts, scientists at higher education institutions;

- Take the lead, cooperate with the relevant Ministries, industries to study and complete specific mechanisms, policies to attract scientific and technological talent from abroad and from the industrial sector to cooperate and teach at higher education institutions, especially in the fields of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cloud computing...

At the same time, requests the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to:

- Proactively, actively attract investment to develop the ecosystem of the semiconductor chip, artificial intelligence, cloud computing industries...;

- Proactively participate and enhance cooperation closely in the relationship among the State, academia, and businesses to improve the effectiveness of training, developing human resources in semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, cloud computing...

- Direct and support affiliated higher education institutions to develop high-quality human resources training in high-tech sectors, especially semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, cloud computing.
