Prime Minister of Vietnam's request regarding placing safety, health, and lives of the people on top priority

On September 10, 2024, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam issued Official Telegram 92/CD-TTg to focus on addressing the damage caused by No. 3 typhoon and rain and floods after the typhoon.

Prime Minister of Vietnam's request regarding placing safety, health, and lives of the people on top priority

Implementing the conclusion of the Politburo in Document No. 11261-CV/VPTW dated September 9, 2024, and following directives in the working sessions inspecting the recovery efforts from No. 3 typhoon in several localities in recent days, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam requests:

Secretary of the Party Committees, Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities in the areas affected by the typhoon and floods, with the objective of ensuring the safety, health, and lives of the people as the utmost priority, to directly direct functional agencies:

- With the utmost urgency, continue to focus on search and rescue efforts for those still missing (note to ensure absolute safety for the search and rescue forces); provide free medical treatment to the injured; promptly organize visits, encourage family members, and adequately support funeral arrangements for the deceased.

- Organize the relief of food, essentials, and necessities for households at risk of hunger, especially those in still-isolated areas; arrange temporary shelters for households that have lost their homes. Absolutely ensure that no one is left hungry, cold, or without shelter.

- Inspect, review, and accurately and fully enumerate all damages to the production, assets of the people, businesses, and state infrastructure projects, report to the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam on September 12, 2024; proactively mobilize local resources and other legal sources of funds to urgently address the consequences of the typhoon and floods to quickly stabilize the lives of the people and promptly restore business production.

In addition, it is required that the Ministers of the Ministries of Defense and Public Security of Vietnam direct related military regions and units to deploy forces and means (including helicopters) to reach and support the transportation of food, dry food, bread, milk, relief supplies, etc. for people in still-isolated areas; support the people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters based on local requests.
