Price of on-demand medical services at medical facilities in Vietnam from August 15, 2023

Specifically, the framework of on-demand medical examination services (excluding screening, imaging, diagnostic, testing, and surgical services) is specified in Section 1, Appendix I promulgated together with Circular 13/2023/TT-BYT as follows:

- For special-class and first-class medical examination and treatment establishments:

+ The minimum price is 100,000 VND;

+ The maximum price is 500,000 VND.

- For other medical examination and treatment establishments:

+ The minimum price is 30,500 VND;

+ The maximum price is 300,000 VND.

Method of pricing medical services on request in Vietnam

The pricing of medical examination and treatment services upon request will be carried out by the following methods:

- Medical examination and treatment establishments decide to set prices for medical examination and treatment services upon request according to one of the two methods specified in Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular 25/2014/TT-BTC.

- Medical examination and treatment establishments can set different service prices according to specialties, time of service performance, professional qualifications of service providers, and care and treatment personnel. ;

Facility conditions and levels of care; The quality and quantity of technical services shall be submitted to the competent authorities specified in Article 6 of Circular 13/2023/TT-BYT for approval of medical examination and treatment prices according to specific requirements of the unit within the price bracket of services specified in the Appendix issued together with Circular 13/2023/TT-BYT.

- In case the service incurs costs due to inviting more domestic workers (other than permanent employees at the service unit or department upon request), abroad:

Included in the service price are the costs of hiring labor under the contract and expenses for meals, accommodation, travel, hiring translators and interpreters, reasonable and valid expenses related to hiring human resources on the basis of an agreement, and the voluntary contributions of service users.

- In case of providing professional and technical services performed at home, additional reasonable and valid expenses incurred in connection with the performance of the service may be charged (if any).

Circular 13/2023/TT-BYT takes effect as of August 15, 2023.
