Pilot Various Environmental Protection Models for Building New Rural Areas

On May 26, 2017, the Prime Minister signed Decision 712/QD-TTg approving the pilot scheme for perfecting and replicating environmental protection models in building new rural areas in difficult, border, and island communes through private investment, for the period 2017 - 2020.

To achieve the objectives set forth by the Scheme, the Prime Minister directs the construction and pilot implementation of the following models:

- Centralized rural clean water supply model in 07 economic regions and drinking water supply model for schools and health stations in island communes;- Inter-communal solid waste treatment model;- Pesticide packaging collection and treatment model;- Livestock waste treatment model;- Commune-level environmental protection propagandist model.

The estimated capital requirement to implement the Scheme is approximately 1,200 billion VND.
