The Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision 36/QD-TTg dated January 11, 2024, approving the information and communications infrastructure planning for the period 2021–2030, vision to 2050, including orientation for land use arrangements for national information infrastructure development.
Details regarding the approval of the information and communications infrastructure planning for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050 in Vietnam are as follows:
The land use arrangement for the development of national information and communications infrastructure must be consistent with national land use planning and national marine spatial planning.
Encourage the integration of information and communications infrastructure projects with projects to develop the digital technology industry, digital government, digital economy, and digital society in the direction of forming an ecosystem to improve the efficiency of exploiting resources to serve economic and social development and ensure national defense and security.
Localities base their decisions on development needs, provincial planning, and relevant regulations to allocate appropriate land areas.
**For information technology industry development requirements, the land use orientation is:
Based on the National Land Use Plan for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2045 and a 5-year land use plan (2021–2025), land for concentrated information technology parks belongs to the land fund for high-tech parks, industrial parks, and non-agricultural land.
Attach and promote local comparative advantages; promote regional connectivity; create new motivation along economic corridors; and create a transformation in the quality of local growth.
**In addition, in the solutions to implement this Plan, there is a requirement: Implement the National Land Use Plan in the field of information and communications to ensure effective use of public postal network infrastructure, data center infrastructure, and centralized information technology parks in the period 2021–2025 and the following periods.
