Organize Comprehensive Vaccination Against Diphtheria for Target Groups

This is one of the requests made by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam set forth in Official Telegram 862/CD-TTg regarding strengthening the prevention and control of diphtheria.

To proactively control and promptly prevent diphtheria outbreaks, and to prevent its spread, the Prime Minister requests the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct all levels of government and related Departments, agencies, and organizations to:

- Propagate and mobilize people to implement measures for epidemic prevention and control; guide people to immediately go to medical facilities when they show signs of the disease for timely examination, consultation, and treatment;- Organize strict monitoring of the situation, promptly detect, and thoroughly handle any incidence to prevent the epidemic from breaking out and spreading; promptly treat infected individuals and asymptomatic carriers to minimize mortality;- Clearly identify areas and subjects at risk of contracting the disease; organize adequate vaccination against diphtheria for targeted groups, especially in the Central Highlands provinces; ensure adequate funding, means, supplies, chemicals, and equipment to effectively perform early diagnosis, collection, emergency response, and treatment of patients.
