Organizational structure of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of Vietnam after streamlining the apparatus from March 1, 2025

The Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of Vietnam is an agency of the Government of Vietnam that performs the function of state management in the sectors and fields of ethnic affairs; beliefs, religions, and state management over public service delivery in the sectors and fields of state management of the ministry as prescribed by the law.

According to Decree 41/2025/ND-CP, the new organizational structure of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs post-streamlining comprises:

- Department of Planning and Finance.

- Department of Personnel Organization.

- Department of Legal Affairs.

- Department of International Cooperation.

- Inspectorate.

- Office.

- Committee for Religious Affairs of the Government of Vietnam.

- Department of Propaganda for Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

- Department of Policy.

- Center for Digital Transformation.

- Academy of Ethnic Affairs.

- Newspaper of Ethnic Affairs and Development.

- Journal of Ethnic and Religious Studies.

According to Article 3 of Decree 41/2025/ND-CP, the units stipulated from Clause 1 to Clause 9 are those assisting the Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs in performing state management functions; the units stipulated from Clause 10 to Clause 13 are public service providers serving the state management functions of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

The Committee for Religious Affairs of the Government of Vietnam is an agency at the departmental level, with a structure consisting of 7 units at the divisional level; the Ministry’s Office and Ministry Inspectorate have units at the division level per regulations.

The Department of Propaganda for Ethnic and Religious Affairs has two sections located in Dak Lak Province and Can Tho City.

The Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs shall propose to the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam to promulgate a list of other public service providers directly under the ministry as prescribed.
