Officially approved the Resolution on organization of urban government in Ho Chi Minh City

According to the Resolution No. 131/2020/QH14 of the National Assembly of Vietnam, the People's Committee of the city under the city shall perform the tasks and exercise the powers specified in the Law on Organization of Local Government, other relevant provisions of law, and the following tasks and powers:

- Formulate and submit to the People's Council of the same level for decision on the contents specified in Clauses 1 and 2 Article 6 of this Resolution and organize the implementation of the resolutions of the People's Council;

- Based on the resolution of the People's Council of the same level on the medium-term and annual socio-economic development plan, decide to assign the task of socio-economic development to the People's Committee of wards;

- Decide and organize the performance of tasks on national defense and security, measures to ensure social order and safety, fight and prevent crimes and other law-breaking acts in the wards.

From July 01, 2021, the People's Committee of the district and the People's Committee of the wards shall perform the tasks and exercise their powers as prescribed in this Resolution.
