Labor Code 2019 has just been passed by the XIV National Assembly at its 8th session on November 20, 2019, and will come into effect from January 01, 2021.
Labor Code 2019 has adjusted the retirement age of workers in normal working conditions according to a schedule until reaching 62 years old for male workers by the year 2028 and 60 years old for female workers by the year 2035.
From the year 2021, the retirement age of workers in normal working conditions is 60 years and 3 months for males; 55 years and 4 months for females. Subsequently, each year, the retirement age will increase by 3 months for male workers and 4 months for female workers.
Additionally, according to the Labor Code 2019, from January 1, 2021, workers and employers are only allowed to conclude one of two types of contracts: fixed-term labor contracts and indefinite-term labor contracts (the Labor Code 2019 has removed the seasonal labor contract compared to current regulations).
