Official Dispatch: Transmission of procedural documents in the UK and India is temporarily suspended

Recently, the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam has issued the Official Dispatch No. 181/TANDTC-HTQT on the transmission of procedural documents to overseas litigants in civil and administrative cases.

According to the Official Dispatch No. 181/TANDTC-HTQT, the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam shall provide the Courts with information related to the transmission of procedural documents to overseas litigants as follows:

- On August 05, 2020, Vietnam Post issued Official Dispatch No. 3386/BĐVNDVBC on announcement of the list of countries accepting international airmail and parcel services (attached to this Official Dispatch). In that spirit, the Courts may continue to compile a judicial mandate dossier to send to the Ministry of Justice if the litigant has an address in one of the above-mentioned countries;

- Currently, transmission of documents in the UK, India and Victoria of Australia is suspended. Therefore, the dossiers of entrustment through the Ministry of Justice to the above-mentioned countries and states will be affected and cannot be implemented;

- For the transmission of documents and papers to the litigant with a US address, according to the latest notice of ABC Legal Services Company, the transmission of documents and papers in the United States has been conducted normally in all 50 states of this country.
