Official Dispatch 9764: 10% discount on retail electricity prices in the last 3 months of 2020 in Vietnam

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam has issued the Official Dispatch No. 9764/BCT-ĐTĐL on support to reduce electricity prices and reduce electricity bills for electricity users affected by the 2nd phase of the Covid-19 epidemic.

In order to remove difficulties in the context of the impact of the second phase of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam has implemented a reduction in electricity selling prices and electricity bills for electricity users, specifically as follows:

- Retail price of electricity for customers using domestic electricity: 10% discount of retail electricity price from level 1 to level 4 specified in Decision No. 648/QD-BCT;

- Directly reduce electricity bill (before tax value) for establishments serving Covid-19 prevention and control to buy electricity from EVN's units and electricity retailers, specifically:

+ 100% reduction of electricity bills for facilities used for isolation and concentrated medical examination of patients suspected of being infected with Covid-19;

+ 20% reduction of electricity bills for medical facilities used to examine, test and treat patients infected with Covid-19.

Note: The total time to support electricity price reduction and electricity bill reduction for the above customers is 03 months in the October, November, and December, 2020 billing periods.
