On May 26, 2020, the Minister of Education and Training issued Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT promulgating the Regulation on High School Graduation Exams.
According to the Regulations issued in conjunction with this Circular, each province organizes an Examination Council, chaired by the Department of Education and Training, to conduct the exam for all candidates registered to take the exam in the province. The Director of the Department of Education and Training issues the decision to establish the Examination Council and the Committees of the Examination Council.
Eligible candidates for the high school graduation examination include:
- Individuals who have completed the high school program in the year the exam is held;- Individuals who have completed the high school program but have not taken the high school graduation exam or have taken it but have not graduated in previous years;- Individuals who already have a High School Diploma, individuals who have a Vocational Intermediate Diploma taking the exam to use the results as a basis for college admission;- Certain other special cases as decided by the Minister of Education and Training.
Notably, these Regulations stipulate that candidates who are disqualified from the exam in any given year will have all their test results from that examination year canceled.
