The Office of the Government of Vietnam has just issued Notice 573/TB-VPCP announcing the official holiday schedule for Tet and other holidays in 2018 for officials and public employees.
Vietnamese official and public employees are entitled to Lunar New Year holiday from Wednesday (February 14, 2018, corresponding to the 29th day of the last lunar month of the Year of the Rooster) until the end of Tuesday (February 20, 2018, corresponding to the 5th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Dog).
Thus, the total duration of the Lunar New Year holiday in 2018 is 7 days.
Also, according to Announcement 573, on the upcoming National Day, Vietnamese official and public employees will have 2 days off: National Day (September 2) and a compensatory holiday on Monday (September 3).
According to the directive of the Office of the Government of Vietnam:
- Agencies and units that implement the above holiday schedule should arrange staffing appropriately to ensure continuous work and good service to organizations and the public;- For agencies and units that do not have fixed weekends off on Saturdays and Sundays, they should arrange suitable holiday schedules based on their specific programs and plans.
