Objectives of training program for foreigners teaching English in Vietnam 

*General objectives:

To help learners develop effective and flexible skills in teaching English in conformity with the culture and circumstances of Vietnam, meeting the requirements for training and issuance of teaching certificates to learners and contributing to the assurance of English teaching quality at foreign language centers and foreign language and informatics centers (hereinafter referred to as "foreign language centers"). 

*Specific objectives:

After the completion of the training program, learners shall: 

- Be able to utilize knowledge, methods, and measures concerning the main approach to English teaching; analyze, assess, and adjust contents and methods in conformity with their learners and the culture and circumstances of teaching and learning English in Vietnam; 

- Be able to utilize skills in supporting teaching and learning flexibly and effectively; analyze, assess, and adjust skills in managing and organizing classes effectively to support learning; develop teaching plan development and assessment skills; use technology, learning materials, and English teaching methods in conformity with each of their learners to develop the capacity and quality of such learners at foreign language centers; 

- Have an active, responsible, cooperative, and professional attitude and working spirit and the capacity for flexible adaptation; respect the customs and cultural traditions of Vietnam; comply with the laws of Vietnam.

Knowledge volume and duration of training program for foreigners teaching English in Vietnam 

- The program includes 10 thematic topics about knowledge, methods, and skills in teaching English and 1 thematic topic of practice. 

- The duration of the program includes 160 teaching sessions, each session is 45 minutes (equivalent to 120 teaching hours, each teaching hour is 60 minutes).
