Vietnam Social Security issued Official Dispatch 5162/BHXH-CSYT directing the enhancement of inspection and payment of health insurance medical examination and treatment costs.

Recently, Vietnam Social Security has detected several errors in the implementation of regulations on overtime payment for doctors, payment for technical services (DVKT) performed by doctors, etc. Therefore, Vietnam Social Security requests social insurance agencies in provinces and cities to note:

- Individuals performing technical services must register to practice medical examination and treatment at the medical facility, and adhere to the registered practice hours at that facility;- The total overtime hours of individuals performing technical services must not exceed 200 hours per year in accordance with the Labor Code and Decree 109/2016/ND-CP;- Individuals performing technical services at another medical facility must have a written authorization from the competent authority designated under Scheme 1816, Satellite Hospital Project, or a technical transfer contract between the two medical facilities.

In addition, Vietnam Social Security directs social insurance agencies in provinces and cities to develop and implement inspection plans (regular and irregular) to verify the presence of patients in inpatient wards.
