New Standards on Health Requirements for Citizen Recruitment to Perform Police Duty

Recently, the Ministry of Public Security issued Circular 45/2019/TT-BCA regarding health standards and medical examinations for selecting citizens to perform the obligation to join the People's Public Security, replacing Joint Circular 09/2009/TTLT-BCA-BYT.

only recognizing sufficient health for the selection of police service for citizens with Health Category 1, Category 2 and meeting the following special criteria:

- Not addicted to drugs or drug precursors;- Normal hair color and form;- No pigment disorders;- No tattoos (including cosmetic tattoos);- No ear piercing (for men), no piercings on nose and other body parts for wearing jewelry;- No chronic diseases, social diseases;- No keloid scars on the head, face, neck, forearm, hands, and feet.

Thus, compared to Joint Circular 09, Circular 45 has additionally supplemented the standards for special criteria that citizens performing the duty to participate in the people's police force must ensure.
