New regulations on medical assessment documentation for occupational accidents in Vietnam

Circular 14/2016/TT-BYT detailing certain provisions of the Law on Social Insurance in the field of healthcare in Vietnam takes effect from July 1, 2016.

The initial medical assessment documentation for occupational accidents in Vietnam includes:

- Introduction letter from the employer;

- Certified copy of the Injury Certificate issued by the medical facility (where the employee was rescued and treated);

The dossier no longer requires the following: a Work Accident Investigation Report; traffic accident report (in case the traffic accident is determined to be occupational accidents); and a discharge certificate; documents regarding examination and treatment of injuries due to occupational accidents in cases where inpatient treatment is not required as stipulated in Circular 07/2010/TT-BYT.

Circular 14/2016/TT-BYT replaces Joint Circular 11/1999/TTLT-BYT-BHXH, Circular 34/2013/TT-BYT, and Circular 07/2010/TT-BYT.
