New regulations on drawings in urban general planning task dossiers in Vietnam

According to Vietnam's Circular 04/2022/TT-BXD, the urban master planning task dossier includes drawings and explanations.

Compared to Vietnam's Circular 12/2016/TT-BXD, the content of the drawings in the dossier of urban general planning tasks is specified in more detail, specifically:

- Drawings in the general planning task of urban centers being centrally run cities include:

Location map and regional relationship in the national urban and rural system planning, regional planning; map of boundaries and scope of general city planning

Drawings are shown at the appropriate scale on the map based on the development orientation of the national urban and rural system; map of the development direction of the urban and rural system in Vietnam.

- Drawings in the task of general planning of provincial cities, towns, townships, and new urban centers include:

Map of location and relationship in planning of the national urban and rural systems, regional planning (for urban centers of grade III or higher), and provincial planning; map of boundaries and scope of urban general planning.

Drawings are shown at an appropriate scale on the basis of a map of the development orientation of the national urban system, a map of the development direction of the urban and rural systems (for urban centers of grade III or higher), and a plan map of urban and rural system planning.

Currently, the drawing regulations in the urban master plan task do not have a division by city level, and the content only includes a location map and regional contacts, a boundary map, and the scope of urban planning research, all shown on a topographic map at an appropriate scale.

Vietnam's Circular 04/2022/TT-BXD takes effect on January 1, 2023.
