The Government of Vietnam has issued Decree 157/2016/ND-CP amending and supplementing several provisions of Decree 150/2006/ND-CP guiding the implementation of the Ordinance on Veterans.

Policies for allowances for Veterans (CCB) upon ceasing their duties at the Association are stipulated as follows:

- At the commune level:- The Chairman of the Commune-level Veterans Association is entitled to an allowance of ½ month's current salary per year of participation in the Association’s work (including the salary rate according to the position and the leadership allowance);- The Vice Chairman of the Commune-level Veterans Association is entitled to an allowance of ½ month's current allowance per year of participation in the Association’s work.- At the district level and above: Veterans participating in the work at the Veterans Association’s agencies from the district level and above are entitled to an allowance of ½ month's current salary per year of participation in the Association’s work (including the salary rate according to the position and the leadership allowance, if any).

Additionally, the Decree also supplements several benefits for Veterans.

Decree 157/2016/ND-CP takes effect from January 15, 2017.
