New prices on prices of medical examination and treatment services covered by medical insurance will be applied in Vietnam from August 20, 2019

Recently, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Circular No. 13/2019/TT-BYT amending a number of articles of Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BYT unifying prices of medical examination and treatment services covered by medical insurance among hospitals of the same class across the country and guidelines for applying prices and payment for medical services in certain cases.

Issued together with Circular No. 13/2019/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam are lists of prices of medical examination and treatment services. These lists replace those issued together with Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BYT, including:

- Annex I: The medical examination prices;

- Annex II: The hospital stay prices;

- Annex III: The technical and examination prices;

- Annex IV: Additional notes of some medical procedures.

Moreover, Circular No. 13/2019/TT-BYT also stipulates that the list of technical services serving medical examination and treatment classified as equal regarding technical procedures and expenses specified in Decision No. 7435/QD-BYT shall be continued to be applied.
