New Policy for Multidimensionally Deprived Poor Households

the Government of Vietnam issued Resolution 71/NQ-CP dated May 31, 2018, stipulating certain policies for multidimensionally deprived poor households.

In order to support multidimensional poor households in accessing basic social services, the Government of Vietnam has resolved on several policies as follows:

- Implement the health insurance support policy according to Resolution 40/ND-CP dated May 10, 2017;- The housing support policy is implemented according to Decision 33/2015/QD-TTg dated August 10, 2015, and the policy for supporting safe drinking water is defined in Decision 2085/QD-TTg dated October 31, 2016.

Particularly, poor households that are ethnic minorities, in mountainous areas, and in especially difficult regions receive support policies regarding homestead land, production land, legal assistance, and other policies.

Additionally, members of multidimensional poor households with deprivations are entitled to support policies in education and training as those for members of poor or near-poor households.
