The National Assembly of Vietnam passed Law on implementing democracy at grassroots dated November 10, 2022, effective from July 1, 2023.
The National Assembly of Vietnam approved the Law on Implementation of Grassroots Democracy on November 10, 2022, effective July 1, 2023.
According to Vietnam's Law on Implementation of Grassroots Democracy, the forms of publicizing the contents of the commune-level government of Vietnam include:
- Posting information
- Posting on the web portal, the website of the local government at the commune level (new content added)
- Broadcast news on the commune's radio system (if any);
- Notifying the citizens through the village head, the residential group leader;
- Distributing documents to citizens (new content).
- Through conference, exchange, and dialogue between the People's Committee of the commune and the people (new content added),
- Through the reception of citizens, contact with voters, press conferences, press releases, and activities of the commune-level People's Committee spokesperson in accordance with the law; (New content added)
- Notifying political organizations, sociopolitical organizations, and other organizations and mass organizations on the same level to organize grassroots dissemination and propaganda to members and union members; (New content added)
- Through telecommunications networks, social networks operate legally according to the provisions of law, ensuring conformity with the level of information technology application at the commune, village, and residential group levels (new content added).
- Other forms as prescribed by law and regulations on implementing democracy in communes, wards, and townships (New content added.)
Vietnam's Law on Implementation of Grassroots Democracy took effect on July 1, 2023, replacing Ordinance 34/2007/PL-UBTVQH11 and Resolution 55/1998/NQ-UBTVQH10.
