The Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 79/2017/NĐ-CP defining functions, tasks, powers and organizational structures of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to Decree No. 79/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, the Department of Southern Affairs was removed from the organizational structure of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Thus, the new organizational structure of the Ministry has only 26 administrative and non-business units instead of 27 organizations and units as before.
Concurrently, Decree No. 79/2017/NĐ-CP also specifies the number of divisions of Departments as follows:
- The Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Department of Personnel and Organization and Department of Legal Affairs consist of 03 divisions;
- The Department of Planning and Finance consist of 07 divisions (previously 06 rooms);
- The Ministry Inspectorate consists of 05 divisions;
- The Ministry Office consists of 09 divisions;
- The Department of Cultural Heritage, Cinema Department, International Cooperation Department and Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition consist of offices and 04 divisions;
- The Department of Performing Arts consists of an office and 05 divisions.
- The Copyright Office of Vietnam consists of an office and 06 divisions;
- The Department of Grassroots Culture consists of an office and 08 divisions.
Decree No. 79/2017/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government takes effect from July 17, 2017, replacing Decree No. 76/2013/NĐ-CP.
