Recently, the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam has issued the Official Dispatch No. 10612/BGTVT-CYT on encouraging and reminding of requirements for facemasks in airports, ports, coach stations, stations and public transportation to prevent COVID-19 epidemic.
According to the Official Dispatch No. 10612/BGTVT-CYT, implementing direction of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in the regular Government meeting for COVID-19 management dated October 19, 2020, in order to limit risk of infection for passengers of public transport and further risks of infection in Vietnam, Ministry of Transport requests agencies and entities to implement following tasks:
- Expedite and remind transport enterprises and transport owners/operators to inform and request: All passengers on public transport (buses, taxis, coaches, trains, ferries, etc.) especially on airplanes; Vehicle operators and servers on board must wear facemasks properly according to Ministry of Health at ports, coach stations, train stations and all public transport throughout the period of transportation.
- Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam: Remind all Vietnamese airlines and Airport Corporation of Vietnam in writing to strictly follow regulations on proper compulsory facemask for (Vietnamese and foreign) passengers throughout their period on board and at airports. Passengers and money handlers must wear facemasks within airport vicinity.
