New Adjustments on Declaring Information on the Customs Declaration Form

The Ministry of Finance has recently issued Circular 52/2017/TT-BTC amending and supplementing several regulations on the management and use of Customs declarations in Circular 120/2015/TT-BTC.

English Translation:

Adjustments to several regulations on declaring information on Customs Declarations for individuals exiting and entering the country (EIC). To be specific:

- Items subject to taxation:- Alcohol with an alcohol content of 20 degrees or higher exceeding 1.5 liters or alcohol under 20 degrees exceeding 2 liters (current regulation is 22 degrees);- Cigars exceeding 20 units (current regulation is 100 units);- Tobacco exceeding 250 grams (current regulation is 500 grams).- Specific regulations for EIC individuals carrying gold and jewelry with a total weight of ≥300 grams, such as:- EIC individuals holding a passport carrying gold jewelry and craft items;- EIC individuals holding a border laissez-passer wearing gold jewelry and craft items;- Foreign individuals residing in Vietnam entering the country carrying raw gold, gold bars, gold jewelry, and craft items;- Vietnamese individuals residing abroad exiting the country carrying raw gold, gold bars, gold jewelry, and craft items.

Circular 52/2017/TT-BTC is effective from July 10, 2017.
