Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decision No. 972/QD-TTg on the approval of the "National Plan for the Prevention and Control of African Swine Fever, period 2020 - 2025."
Issued alongside this Decision is the National Plan for the Prevention and Control of African Swine Fever (ASF), for the period 2020 – 2025 with the following specific objectives:
- Over 90% of communes, wards, and commune-level towns free from ASF in the first 2 years of the Plan's implementation; over 95% of communes, wards, and commune-level towns free from ASF in the subsequent 2 years, and over 99% of communes, wards, and commune-level towns free from ASF in the last 2 years of the Plan's implementation;- Successfully establish at least 500 pig farming establishments and 50 chains of pork production, ensuring ASF-free pork products for domestic consumption and export;- Achieve 100% large-scale pig farming establishments, 90% medium-scale pig farming establishments, and 80% small-scale pig farming establishments applying biosecure pig farming measures;- Successfully establish at least 2 national laboratories meeting Biosafety Level III and 2 disease-free animal facilities for conducting research, producing ASF vaccines, and diagnosing and testing diseases with potential cross-species transmission to humans as regulated in Decree 103/2016/ND-CP;- …
