N, H prescription eligible to use until June 30, 2023 in Vietnam

On July 12, 2022, the Minister of Health of Vietnam issued Circular 04/2022/TT-BYT amending 52/2017/TT-BYT on prescriptions of pharmaceutical chemicals, biological products in outpatient treatment.

According to the Circular in Vietnam, changes to electronic prescriptions are as follows:
- Replace the prescription form "N" in Appendix II of Vietnam's Circular 52/2017/TT-BYT (amended by Circular 18/2018/TT-BYT) with Appendix II of Circular 04/2022/TT-BYT;
- Replace the prescription form "H" in Appendix III of Vietnam's Circular 52/2017/TT-BYT (amended by Circular 18/2018/TT-BYT) with Appendix III of Circular 04/2022/TT-BYT.
Prescription forms "N" and "H" in Vietnam's Circular 52/2017/TT-BYT, Circular 18/2018/TT-BYT (old form) are used to:
- Before December 31, 2022, for hospitals of class 3 or higher;
- Before June 30, 2023, for other medical examination and treatment establishments.
Note: Medical examination and treatment establishments specified in Clause 2, Article 6 of Circular 27/2021/TT-BYT that are using a paper prescription according to the prescription form may continue to use the paper version according to the roadmap for applying the prescription form in Circular 04/2022/TT-BYT.
Circular 04/2022/TT-BYT takes effect from September 15, 2022.
