The Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam issued Guidelines 4705/HD-BQP dated October 31, 2024, on selecting and enlisting citizens for military service in 2025.
In implementing the Military Service Law 2015; Decision 102/QD-TTg dated September 20, 2024, regarding the drafting of citizens for military service in 2025, the selection and drafting of citizens for military service (hereinafter referred to as military recruitment) will be conducted in one phase; the period for receiving and dispatching the recruits is from February 13 to February 15, 2025.
To ensure that the military recruitment for 2025 meets the assigned quotas and guarantees quality, in compliance with the Military Service Law 2015 and other regulatory documents and implementation guidelines, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam requires localities and units to continue thoroughly implementing and strictly executing the Military Service Law 2015; Circular 148/2018/TT-BQP prescribing the selection and drafting of citizens for military service; Circular 105/2023/TT-BQP on health standards and medical examinations for individuals under the management scope of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam; regulations and implementation instructions for the Law; Directive 98/CT-BQP dated October 26, 2019, regarding the enhancement of measures and improvement of the quality of military recruitment in the new situation, and other procedural guidance documents from the competent bodies of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam.
Additionally, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam provides guidance on certain content in the military recruitment work in 2025 for localities receiving troops as follows:
- Strengthen the leadership and direction of local party committees and authorities at all levels, promote the role and responsibility of all levels, sectors, political and social organizations, and people's oversight on military recruitment work; effectively direct the dissemination, popularization, and legal education on military service obligations; develop specific plans and implement recruitment steps meticulously, democratically, openly, fairly, in accordance with the law, to ensure the requisite targets, quality, and timing for the receipt and dispatch of recruits.
- Direct and organize the reformation of the Military Service Councils at all levels and the district-level Military Service Health Examination Councils in the correct composition; assign responsibility tightly, linking the responsibility of each organization and individual with the quality of recruitment; ensure sufficient equipment and medical supplies; assign experienced, capable, specialist personnel to participate in the military service health examinations, ensuring quality and accurate conclusions in conformity and bearing responsibility for their conclusions...
