Ministry of Construction: To take charge in implementation of National Urban Classification Plan for 2021 - 2030 period in Vietnam

Recently, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision 241/QD-TTg in 2021 approving the nationwide urban classification plan for the period 2021 - 2030.

Promulgated together with Vietnam's Decision 241/QD-TTg is the list of urban areas nationwide to be classified in the 2021 - 2025 period and the 2026 - 2030 periods

Take charge and coordinate with ministries, branches and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-affiliated cities in implementation of urban classification according to the National Urban Classification Plan for the 2021 - 2030 period;
Review urban planning work, guide localities in formulating urban classification schemes; appraise and recognize classes of urban areas or request the competent authorities to recognize classes of urban areas in accordance with applicable law or inspect, review and report to the Prime Minister of Vietnam on the periodic basis during the implementation.
Integrate the national urban classification plan for the period of 2021 - 2030 into the National urban and rural system planning, adjust the National urban development program to ensure that the development of the national urban system is unified through the periods.
