Measures to Address Workers' Strikes and Protests

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs issued Official Telegram 01/OD-MOLISA regarding the situation of workers arbitrarily stopping work to march and demonstrate in the areas of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, and Binh Thuan in recent days.

The Ministry has issued directives requiring Departments, Management Boards of Industrial Zones, Export Processing Zones, etc., to promptly implement several measures to address the situation of workers unilaterally taking leave to participate in demonstrations. Specifically:

- Organize propaganda activities, creating conditions for workers to express their opinions on policies and laws in the spirit of respect and compliance with legal regulations;- Propagate to workers not to unilaterally take leave to participate in unlawful mass gatherings, which affect the production and business activities of enterprises and impact the workers' own income;- Guide enterprises to take preventive measures, ensure security and order, and protect the assets of the enterprises;- Monitor the situation and closely coordinate with local authorities to promptly handle such situations if they arise.

See details in Official Telegram 01/CD-LDTBXH dated June 11, 2018.
