Joint Circular 01/2017/TTLT-BCA-BQP-BTC-BNN&PTNT-VKSNDTC stipulating the coordination between competent authorities in the implementation of the provisions of the 2015 Criminal Procedure Code regarding the reception and resolution of crime denunciations, reports of crime, and recommendations for prosecution.
police of commune, ward, commune-level town, Police Station, Police Post are required to arrange officers on duty to promptly receive reports, information on crimes.
When receiving crime reports and information:
- Police of wards, commune-level towns, Police Stations must draft a receipt report, conduct preliminary check and verification, and transfer the information along with accompanying documents and objects to the investigative agency within 24 hours;- Police of communes must draft a receipt report, take initial statements, and transfer the information along with accompanying documents and objects to the investigative agency within 24 hours. If the commune is in a remote, isolated area, or island, the transfer time limit shall not exceed 48 hours;- Police Posts must draft a receipt report and immediately transfer the information along with accompanying documents and objects to the investigative agency within 24 hours.
Joint Circular 01 takes effect from March 1, 2018, replacing Joint Circular 06/2013/TTLT-BCA-BQP-BTC-BNN&PTNT-VKSNDTC.
