Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Circular 41/2018/TT-BCT stipulating the list of scraps temporarily prohibited from temporary import for re-export and transshipment.
From December 20, 2018, to December 31, 2019, enterprises shall temporarily suspend the activities of temporary import, re-export, and transit for the following scrap materials:
- Scrap and fragments of copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, tungsten, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, magnesium, titanium, zirconium, antimony, manganese, and scrap and fragments of iron; casts made from iron or steel;- Scrap from artificial fibers; from textile fragments, yarn samples, ropes, cords, and new or used cables produced from textile materials;- Granulated slag, metallurgical slag, slag fragments, and waste from the iron and steel industry; waste paper, cardboard; various types of wool, fine animal hair, and cotton, fibers; silk waste.
Except for the consignments of scrap that had cleared customs procedures before December 20, 2018, which can continue to be re-exported or transited according to Decree 69/2018/ND-CP.
