The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam has just signed Decision 24/2018/QD-TTg promulgating the List and Roadmap of energy-using vehicles and equipment to be phased out and low-efficiency power generation units not to be newly constructed.
Attached to Decision 24/2018/QD-TTg is Appendix I, listing devices banned from import, production, and commercial distribution from July 10, 2018, including:
- Household appliance group such as: Compact fluorescent lamps (TCVN 7896:2008); Electric fans (TCVN 7826:2007); Refrigerators, freezers (TCVN 7828:2013); Rice cookers (TCVN 8252:2008); Household washing machines (TCVN 8526:2010);- Office and commercial equipment group such as: Photocopiers (TCVN 9510:2012); Printers (TCVN 9509:2012); Computer monitors (TCVN 9508:2012);- Industrial equipment group such as: Boilers in industrial enterprises (TCVN 8630:2010).
Additionally, there is Appendix II listing devices banned from import, production, and commercial distribution from July 10, 2020.
Note that the banned import products are those with low efficiency, not meeting Vietnamese standards and regulations.
