It is possible to lease premises for the temporary storage of customs violation exhibits

Recently, the General Department of Customs issued Official Dispatch 6457/TCHQ-PC to note some contents in the management and preservation of exhibits and means of administrative violations that are temporarily seized or confiscated according to administrative procedures as follows:

- It is possible to rent a location to temporarily store confiscated items or means of violations in case there are insufficient conditions to arrange a separate warehouse for temporarily storing such items, or the scale of the temporary storage facility is not adequate to manage and preserve them.

If the items are small or in a small quantity, they can be handed over to the officer in charge at the headquarters of the respective agency.

- The person who issues the decision to temporarily detain the items or means of violations must compensate and be subject to disciplinary action in cases of loss, sale, substitution, damage, loss of components, or replacement of such items or means of violations;

- When receiving, returning, or transferring the temporarily detained or confiscated items or means to agencies, organizations, or individuals, a record must be made with signatures from both the handing over and receiving parties.
