Issuance of the set of statistical indicators for sustainable development in Vietnam from March 10, 2025

Circular 02/2025/TT-BKHDT stipulates the Statistical Indicators for Sustainable Development of Vietnam including:

- The list of statistical indicators for sustainable development of Vietnam stipulated in Appendix I of Circular 02/2025/TT-BKHDT comprises 145 statistical indicators reflecting 17 sustainable development goals of Vietnam;

- The contents of statistical indicators for sustainable development of Vietnam stipulated in Appendix II of Circular 02/2025/TT-BKHDT include definitions, calculation methods; main classification; publication schedule; data sources, and the agency responsible for collection and synthesis.

The Statistical Indicators for Sustainable Development of Vietnam is a set of statistical indicators related to various sectors and fields, linking regions to provide data assessing the implementation situation of Vietnam's sustainable development goals. Circular 02/2025/TT-BKHDT is applicable to agencies, organizations, individuals providing statistical information, producing statistical information, and using statistical information regarding Vietnam's sustainable development goals.

Regarding the organization of implementation of the Statistical Indicators for Sustainable Development of Vietnam as follows:

- The Ministry of Planning and Investment (General Statistics Office) takes the lead, cooperating with relevant agencies:

+ Collect, compile statistical information related to the Statistical Indicators for Sustainable Development of Vietnam, ensuring the provision of complete, accurate, and timely statistical data that meets international comparison requirements;

+ Develop and perfect the forms of information collection for the Statistical Indicators for Sustainable Development of Vietnam;

+ Develop a sustainable development statistical database of Vietnam and disseminate statistical information on the statistical indicators for sustainable development of Vietnam.

- Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and relevant agencies based on the Statistical Indicators for Sustainable Development of Vietnam are responsible for collecting, compiling, drafting assigned indicators and providing them to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (General Statistics Office) for overall synthesis.

More details can be found in Circular 02/2025/TT-BKHDT which takes effect from March 10, 2025.

Circular 03/2019/TT-BKHDT regulating the Statistical Indicators for Sustainable Development of Vietnam shall be null and void from the effective date of Circular 02/2025/TT-BKHDT.
