On November 30, 2024, the National Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods issued Plan 133/KH-BCD389 for the peak period against smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods before, during, and after the Lunar New Year in 2025.
To intensify control of the situation, promptly detect, combat, and effectively prevent acts of smuggling, illegal transportation of goods, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods throughout the country, the National Steering Committee against Smuggling, Commercial Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods (National Steering Committee 389) issued a high-intensity plan against smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods before, during, and after the Lunar New Year holidays in 2025.
The Steering Committee 389 of various ministries, central authorities, and local authorities is required to intensify inspection and control of the market concerning essential goods and high-demand goods catering to production, business, and consumption during the end of year and Lunar New Year holidays;
Focusing on strictly controlling major markets, shopping centers, agents, e-commerce platforms (particularly low-cost cross-border trading platforms), social networking sites (facebook, zalo, tiktok...) for online buying and selling, promptly detecting and severely handling acts that exploit business activities to trade, transport prohibited goods, counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods violating intellectual property rights...
Concurrently, assign the Steering Committee 389 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade: Direct the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy to cooperate with functional agencies to strengthen information exchange, proactively review e-commerce platforms (especially low-cost cross-border trading platforms), websites, social network applications (facebook, zalo, tiktok,...) to promptly detect and handle acts exploiting e-commerce for illegal trading.
Moreover, it requires the Steering Committee 389 of various ministries, central authorities, and local authorities to develop and effectively implement the high-intensity plan against smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods before, during, and after the Lunar New Year holidays in 2025 per their scope, management area, and responsibilities.
Proactively arrange forces, equipment, means for patrolling, and tightly controlling key border routes; land, rail, river, sea, and air checkpoints, and areas for gathering goods near the border to prevent acts of smuggling, commercial fraud, illegal transportation of goods into the interior;
Focusing on prohibited goods, low-quality goods, conditional import/export goods, high-tariff goods, and essential goods serving production, business, and consumption during the year-end and Lunar New Year holidays.
