On November 23, 2023, the Central Executive Committee issued Directive 26-CT/TW on organizing the Tet 2024 of the Year of Dragon in Vietnam.

To best prepare the conditions to celebrate the New Year and Lunar New Year of Dragon 2024, the Secretariat requests party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations to direct and organize the good implementation of a number of key tasks; which strictly prohibit giving or giving Tet gifts to leaders at all levels in any form.

Do not organize visits and New Year wishes for superiors and leaders at all levels; Do not organize a Central delegation to visit and wish New Year to party committees and authorities of provinces and cities;

Leading officials at all levels can only attend temple ceremonies and festivals when assigned; Do not participate in superstitious activities;

Do not use the state budget, vehicles, or regulated public assets for festivals or entertainment activities... Strictly implement regulations on the responsibilities of cadres and party members to set an example of what party members are not allowed to do.

In addition, it is required to direct and organize a number of key tasks, such as:

- Promote the tradition of great solidarity and the spirit of "mutual love" of the national; proactively and actively implement social security policies, take good care of the people's material and spiritual lives, especially people with meritorious services to the revolution, policy families, people in difficult circumstances, poor households, people in localities affected by natural disasters, epidemics, remote areas, borders, islands, ethnic minority areas, workers, laborers, people who have lost their jobs...ensuring that every home and everyone has the conditions to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet.

- Organize well the visits and New Year wishes to veteran revolutionary cadres, Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the country, celebrities, intellectuals, artists, prestigious people among ethnic minorities, prominent religious dignitaries, armed forces units, standing forces on duty during Tet days, at borders, islands, difficult areas, and complex areas of political security, social order, and safety...
